Portal 2 Hints
How can I get repulsion gel put in some particular spot?
1 of 8: First, get the gel flow going.
2 of 8: On the chamber's main floor is an overhead gel tube with a button pedestal near it.
3 of 8: Press the pedestal's button to cause the tube to start dropping large globs of gel.
4 of 8: Before you did that, did you notice that the floor underneath the gel tube is portal-friendly?
5 of 8: That remains true even after it's covered in gel.
6 of 8: Put an orange portal on the floor directly under the gel tube, then put a blue portal on any portal-friendly surface to get gel globs to come shooting out of it.
7 of 8: If you want gel on a portal-friendly floor section, you'll need to put a blue portal in the spot you want the gel, wait until a gel glob shoots up out of it, then relocate the blue portal to some other portal-friendly surface so the gel glob won't fall back through it. (And even then, it'll only end up on the floor if it doesn't hit the ceiling.)
8 of 8: It doesn't matter if gel globs hit you or get splattered all over the place. If you can't decide where all you want gel, put blue portals in every spot you can to paint the chamber with the stuff.
