How can I get the cube out of the case?
1 of 11: Examine the cube's case to see that it's not enclosed in glass on all sides.
2 of 11: The top and bottom of the case are made of metal mesh.
3 of 11: Also, the floor under the case and the ceiling above it are both portal-friendly.
4 of 11: Notice the two tubes in alcoves that are spewing out repulsion gel and water.
5 of 11: Recall what you learned about repulsion gel and metal mesh in this sphere's first test chamber.
6 of 11: Gel will go right through mesh. How could you use that to break the cube out of its case?
7 of 11: What if you redirected the flow of repulsion gel so that it spewed up into (or dropped down into) the cube's case?
8 of 11: That might throw the cube around violently enough to break it out.
9 of 11: Put an orange portal on the floor directly underneath the gel tube, then put a blue portal on the floor directly underneath the cube's case (or on the ceiling directly over the case).
10 of 11: All you have to do then is wait for the cube to bounce around enough to smash its way out of the case.
11 of 11: NOTE: You can get the Schrodinger's Catch achievement here if you catch the cube after it breaks out of the case and before it touches the floor. That's extremely hard to do, since the direction that the cube goes after breaking out of the case is random. If you want the achievement, stand on the side of the case that's near the big red button (since the cube is a little more likely to exit the case on that side) and quicksave before placing the portal that redirects the gel into the case.
