Quake 4 Hints

When can I get off the conveyor belt?

  • 1 of 13: Not right away.
  • 2 of 13: In fact, you'll have to make some effort to stay on the belt in the rooms with all the containers being moved around. They can push you off to your death if you're not careful.
  • 3 of 13: TIP: As you approach the doors that leave the first room where you have to dodge moving containers, drop off the conveyor belt to the left or right to get to an area with some armor in one spot and a medkit and rail slugs in another. When you're ready, you can drop back onto the conveyor belt from where you got the medkit and slugs (or from the other side).
  • 4 of 13: You'll eventually come to a spot where the belt you're on drops down to a lower, perpendicular one. Before you drop down, get off on the side ledge and save your game.
  • 5 of 13: On the next couple of conveyor belts, you'll have to hold back while machinery like big needles and saw blades are over the belt. Time it just right to avoid being killed while moving past them.
  • 6 of 13: TIP: Past the first saw blade, you can get onto a platform to the left that has some supplies on it.
  • 7 of 13: After jumping a few more conveyor belts, you'll have to avoid a couple of jets of flame and two more big needles.
  • 8 of 13: TIP: Right before you come to the jets of flame, drop off the conveyor belt to get to a small walkway with some supplies on it in two spots, then climb up a ladder to get back on the conveyor belt.
  • 9 of 13: Soon after, you'll need to jump over to a walkway on the right with a broken railing before the belt you're on ends.
  • 10 of 13: The two nearby doors are locked, so jump over a rail and onto the big conveyor belt that will get you to an unlocked door.
  • 11 of 13: A few belts after that, you'll finally be able to jump off of the conveyor system and fight some Strogg.
  • 12 of 13: TIP: Look for ammo and health behind some crates in one corner after this first fight.
  • 13 of 13: Fight through several fairly standard rooms in order to get to the next big thing. (And boy, is it *big!*)
