Quake 4 Hints

How can I destroy the huge fat-blob creature in the processing room?

  • 1 of 14: Not with your puny weapons, that's for sure!
  • 2 of 14: There's some large indestructible windows between you and it at first, so you can relax and explore for now.
  • 3 of 14: If you go left along the curving corridor, you'll just find a locked door that you can't go through yet, so go back the other way.
  • 4 of 14: After going through a couple of unlocked doors, you'll find yourself in range of the creature's huge hook hands.
  • 5 of 14: There are pillars that you can stop behind so that the fatso will hit the piller instead of you, but no pillar will stand up to more than two hits (no more than one if it can hit the pillar with both hands at once).
  • 6 of 14: It's very hard to get across alive, and nearly impossible to get across undamaged (though I've done it once on Corporal difficulty). Just save your game and keep trying until you make it.
  • 7 of 14: When you're safely on the other side, use the small interactive panel to do something that gets the horrid fatso to smash a nearby glass window and open that locked door you found earlier.
  • 8 of 14: Save your game again and go jump through that window, timing things so that you don't get hit in the back as you go.
  • 9 of 14: TIP: Just a short ways past the door, you can crouch and go under a walkway to find a suit of armor. You'll probably need it, plus the health pack that's on a crate near the exit of the room that's past the little lift.
  • 10 of 14: A little further on, you'll find yourself on an upper walkway in the big fat-blob's room where you're in range of its claws again.
  • 11 of 14: Pausing behind the two pillars up there for cover, it shouldn't be hard to run for the next hallway without getting damaged.
  • 12 of 14: Then you're finally in position to kill off the hideous thing!
  • 13 of 14: Find the nearby control room and search the panels for interactive spots.
  • 14 of 14: One of them has an "initiate feeding" button, so click there to blow that fat bleep wide open!
