REAH Hints
The Core Machine (Final Puzzle)
of 26: The core machine is surrounded by 4 pillars.
of 26: Each pillar has a small hole in it -- above which is a red light.
of 26: You need to insert "something" into each of the holes.
of 26: Have you found all 4 luminous rods?
of 26: If not, check the other hints in this file. You get a rod for completing each of the 3 puzzles on the bottom level -- the 4th one is hidden somewhere along the circular walkway.
of 26: After all 4 rods are inserted in the holes, the keyboard on the core machine will be activated.
of 26: All you need now is the access code.
of 26: Listen carefully as you insert the last rod -- you'll hear the code being given as 30, 25, 9, 25, 20.
of 26: Unfortunately there are no numbers on the keyboard -- only letters and a ">>" sign which acts as the "enter" button.
of 26: What do you know so far?
of 26: The access code is a 5-letter word.
of 26: Time to put you "code-breaking" skills into action!
of 26: You could randomly select any 5 letters -- but I strongly suggest a more systematic approach.
of 26: Try the 1st letter 5 times (D, D, D, D, D) -- you hear the numbers 15, 9, 12, 11, 4.
of 26: P.S. Don't forget to use the "enter" button after typing the letters.
of 26: Although the 2nd "D" gives you the number 9 -- you will note that it's in the wrong position.
of 26: O, O, O, O, O gives you 26, 20, 23, 22, 15 -- again no success.
of 26: S, S, S, S, S gives you 30, 24, 27, 26, 19 -- your first "hit". The number 30 is in the correct position.
of 26: You have the 1st letter of the access code: S - - - -
of 26: Try the letter T next.
of 26: Try the letter R next.
of 26: You now have S T - R T
of 26: The last letter is...
of 26: ...A.
of 26: The access code is S T A R T
of 26: CONGRATULATIONS!! Sit back and watch the closing video -- a disapointing end to a really good adventure.
