The Locked Gate
1 of 17: The gate is locked from the outside by means of 3 beams.
2 of 17: There is a "combination slot" in the centre of each beam.
3 of 17: The strange symbols on the beams obviously have a significance.
4 of 17: So do the symbols on the "combination slots".
5 of 17: Sliding a beam to the left or right, places a different symbol in the "combination slot".
6 of 17: Have you explored the desert surrounding the city?
7 of 17: You should find 3 sundials -- each represented by a different animal.
8 of 17: The 3 animals are: Rhino / Buffalo / Kudu
9 of 17: What do the 3 animals have in common?
10 of 17: Horns!
11 of 17: Where else did you see 3 different sets of horns?
12 of 17: On the "combination slots" on the beams.
13 of 17: The sundials have symbols instead of numbers on them. Do the symbols look familiar?
14 of 17: They are almost identical to those on the beams.
15 of 17: On 2 of the sundials, you will notice a shadow being cast across a particular symbol.
16 of 17: You now have the correct setting for the top (Rhino) and middle (Buffalo) beams.
17 of 17: The setting for the bottom (Kudu) beam can be found by "trial and error".
