How can I kill the guard with the whip?
1 of 9: I would worry first about escaping that whip of his before you think of killing him.
2 of 9: Dodge to the left or the right before he hits you.
3 of 9: Note that, if he starts by moving the whip to the left, you should dodge the left, since he will swing across his body to the right (and vice-versa).
4 of 9: After a few successful dodges, your sword will be within reach. Take it.
5 of 9: The guard is still too good of a swordsman for you to have any chance of beating him in a fair fight, though.
6 of 9: Take a look around and see if there is anything you can use to your advantage.
7 of 9: There's a pot of molten metal to your left. (There are a few different screens, and you move between these as you're fighting. If you can't see the pot, keep fighting until the pot appears.)
8 of 9: Click on it, and you'll pour out the metal and hurt the guard enough that you stand a better chance against him.
9 of 9: In fact, once you've tipped over the pot, you can back the guard directly into the iron maiden on one of the screens -- killing him, of course.
