RHEM Hints
How do I get power up to 100% in the "II" building?
of 23: Have you entered the building and explored around?
of 23: Go down the ladder and through the door on the lower floor to find the little outside control panel.
of 23: Try clicking on the yank-handle.
of 23: You're going to have to do something inside the building before that'll work.
of 23: What can you interact with in there besides the panel with the seven green buttons?
of 23: There are three large horizontal panel doors you can open up.
of 23: Underneath each panel door is a large round thing you can rotate that looks vaguely like a baseball. I'll refer to these as distribution blocks.
of 23: Leave the building and head east through the small brick building to get to a damaged rail car track area.
of 23: Near where the tracks are broken, look down and check out the little map.
of 23: Notice the "II" printed in the upper left corner.
of 23: It's a map of the "II" building you were just in.
of 23: What do you think those three large empty circles represent?
of 23: Those are the rotatable distribution blocks that you saw under the three panel doors on the lower floor of the building.
of 23: You need to use the conduit maze on the map to determine what distribution block settings will allow water to flow through properly. That will enable you to restore power.
of 23: First, orient yourself. Figure out where each distribution block in the building goes on the map.
of 23: Using nearby geographic features that are shown on the map, you should realize that the "up" direction on this map is south, not north. (NOTE: The door leading into the building is on its north side.)
of 23: That would mean that the leftmost circle on the map represents the eastern-most distribution block, which is the one nearest the panel with the seven green buttons.
of 23: Also note that when you're facing and rotating a distribution block, you're not always facing the same compass direction.
of 23: Figure out how to turn the blocks so as to "complete the circuit," so to speak.
of 23: You need water to flow from the in-pipe you see near the bottom right corner of the map all the way to the out-pipe near the map's left edge via the properly-turned distribution blocks. Also note that water must go through both boxes with the lightning bolt symbol on them.
of 23: Once you think you have it, set the blocks and then try the handle on the control panel that's past the "II" building's lower-floor door. If you got it right, the power indicator will go up to 100%. Otherwise, try again.
of 23: Read on for the exact answer.
of 23: The following graphic shows how the three distribution blocks should be oriented. The pictures are based on what you see as you face the block with its panel door open. (Remember, the east block is the one nearest the seven-button panel.)
