RHEM Hints

How do I work the machine with the number keypad?

  • 1 of 19: Try pressing some numbers.
  • 2 of 19: If all you get is rude noises, then try pressing the red and green buttons first.
  • 3 of 19: The machine is a printer, and you have to have the six-digit code number for something before you can print it out.
  • 4 of 19: Once you do, press the red button to start, enter the six-digit code, then press the green button to make a hard copy.
  • 5 of 19: Two numbers are given to you on the wall.
  • 6 of 19: Enter 275371 to get a printout of some odd symbols and numbers.
  • 7 of 19: Enter 446188 to get a printout of two silhouettes with some shapes drawn on them.
  • 8 of 19: File those away for future reference. Since you can't put the printouts in your inventory, screen-capture them and save them to disk somewhere.
  • 9 of 19: Now think. Where have you seen anything that looks like the printer?
  • 10 of 19: Have you been collecting clue data from all the seven-button panels scattered throughout the game?
  • 11 of 19: If not, you need to start. Go to the Round Building's control room and find the white-button panel. It'll help you out.
  • 12 of 19: After you go around and collect data from all 12 of the panels with seven colored buttons, you should notice that six of them showed you sketches of square arrays that look just like the keypad on the printer (except without numbers).
  • 13 of 19: Well, the printer's codes have six digits, so use the colored button panel clues to construct the secret six-digit code.
  • 14 of 19: The numbers that the panels showed you after the keypad diagrams tell you what sequence to put the keypresses in.
  • 15 of 19: Example: The green button panel inside the "II" building in the generator complex shows you a keypad sketch with the third square on the third row shaded in, and then it shows you the number 2. That means that the second digit (digit number 2) of the secret six-digit code is 9, since 9 is the third number on the third row on the printer's keypad.
  • 16 of 19: The exact six-digit number is:
  • 17 of 19: 991931.
  • 18 of 19: Enter that into the printer to get a printout that looks like a diagram of a radar screen.
  • 19 of 19: Screen-capture it and save it with your other notes. They'll all come in handy later on.
