What's the simulation panel good for?
1 of 3: Try turning it on and clicking on its three buttons.
2 of 3: There are a total of six different shapes, three of which are associated with white buttons, and three with black.
3 of 3: As with most other things in this room, the shape-to-button correlation will be useful in solving a puzzle somewhere else. (Coincidentally enough, though, it has nothing to do with the simulation control area.)
