RHEM Hints

How do I know what shapes to set the five panels to?

  • 1 of 14: Once again, this is a big multi-part puzzle that requires you to bring information together from several different widely-scattered sources.
  • 2 of 14: To start off with, where else have you seen a multi-colored beach ball?
  • 3 of 14: There's one in the big picture of two kids on the top floor of the Four Way Tower. See its hint section if you need to in order to find out how to get to the picture.
  • 4 of 14: The beach ball in the picture is held in such a way that its six segments and center white circle can be made to match up directly with the six-segmented "clock" in the pentagon building.
  • 5 of 14: Check the following graphic to see a sketch of the clock with the photo's beach ball colors superimposed on it.
  • 6 of 14: Once you've got the colors properly associated, you still need to figure out two things.
  • 7 of 14: First, what symbol panel is connected to each part of the color clock?
  • 8 of 14: You can figure that out pretty easily by examining the wires that connect panels to clock segments. For example, the NW segment (which we figured out is green) is connected to the second panel from the left.
  • 9 of 14: NOTE: There's no wire or panel connected to the top middle (orange) segment, so you don't need to figure out anything for it.
  • 10 of 14: Now you need to figure out what symbol goes with what color.
  • 11 of 14: The panels with seven colored buttons that are strewn throughout the game will give you that info. Check out the Round Building's control room hints for more info about such panels.
  • 12 of 14: Either go around and collect the data from the seven-button panels or look at the graphic below to see an annotated version of the color clock with the symbols added in. Numbers have also been provided based on mentally numbering the panels from 1 to 5 in left-to-right order. Using this picture, you can tell how colors, symbols, and panel positions are matched up.
  • 13 of 14: Go around the room and enter those symbols into the panels by pressing the panels' buttons until the symbols appear.
  • 14 of 14: EXAMPLE: The leftmost panel's symbol should be set to the zig-zag because that panel is wired to the bottom middle clock segment, which our beach ball tells us is associated with purple, and the seven-button panels say that purple is associated with the zig-zag. (If you're using my annotated color clock as a shortcut, notice that it has a zig-zag shape next to the number 1, and the number 1 corresponds to the leftmost panel.)
