Rhem 3 Hints

How do I open the locked doors in the three-story building?

  • 1 of 11: Note that there are quite a few doors in the three-story building. This hint will tell you, generally speaking, how to open those doors, but I won't give the code for any particular door in these hints. Read all the way to the end to make sure you know how the doors work, but when it comes time to open a certain door, I will give the exact code in the appropriate hints.
  • 2 of 11: Pressing the red buttons alone does not help. See if you can activate these buttons.
  • 3 of 11: Open the boxes and you will see three panels to enter a mesh key.
  • 4 of 11: On the railing in front of each door you also see three images each composed of somewhere between 1 and 3 lines.
  • 5 of 11: Obviously each image stands for one mesh code. All you need is to find the connection between the mesh image and the line image.
  • 6 of 11: You need a book from the library.
  • 7 of 11: Book 4 describes how to find the mesh image with the three lines.
  • 8 of 11: Each of the pages in the book has a set of columns and rows. There's a line on the top of each page, a line at the bottom of each column, and a line on the left or right side of each row. These three lines correspond to a mesh image. To find the mesh image, you have to find the combination of three lines that make the star image you want to construct.
  • 9 of 11: For example: If you want to know the mesh image for the X with a horizontal line, use page 1, second column, bottom row (which is the code for /, \ and -). You see that it's the same image as on page 1, column 4, row 2 (which is the code for /,-, and \). If you want to know the mesh image for a single vertical line, you have to go to the third page, column 3, row 3 (which is the combination for |, | and |)
  • 10 of 11: So that I won't have to show the mesh image in the hints, I give the number of times that you have to click on the top button, to reach the wanted mesh image starting from the empty image. Keep in mind that there are 14 images plus the empty image, so if for example, the door code says 12, you can also reach it by pressing the bottom button 3 times!
  • 11 of 11: The exact 3-number codes for the particular doors are located in the specific hints that describe the doors that need to be unlocked. I decided against giving a full list in one place, so as not to spoil the respective puzzles.
