Rhem 3 Hints
About the Hint File
Rhem 3, like its predecessors, does not really have a straight story line. Your goal is to wander around, solve puzzles and collect information and keys that help you to get through other puzzles, find your way to specific locations, and reach the final goal.
Due to this completely chaotic scenery, the hint file cannot be written in chapters or following a story line, like hints for other adventures. As you can always jump from puzzle to puzzle, you can (nearly) start every puzzle in any arbitrary order. While in Rhem 2 you had two parts of the cave, and you had to solve most of the puzzles in part 1 before getting access to part 2, this structure is not maintained in Rhem 3. I therefore decided to structure the hint file according to the areas where you can find the puzzles. These areas are listed based in the order I found most appropriate for keeping a clear overview, but I will describe the area to make sure you recognize it, before listing the puzzles that you encounter in that area.
If you can't find the hint you're looking for in the top level of an area, it surely is part of a more complex puzzle. Wait until you get that far, and you know what puzzle it belongs to, and check if you find the hint in that section of the hint file.
A lot of hints for puzzles are stored in the library.
In special sections of this hint file (especially lists) I assume that you already explored Rhem as far as possible and just missed some hint or hotspot, so I don't take too much care for not giving out spoilers. So if for example, I'm writing that you have to solve the "Towers of Hanoi" puzzle first, and you've never heard of that puzzle, don't continue reading those hints. Wait until you found (and maybe solved) that puzzle before continuing.
