Rhiannon: Curse Of The Four Branches Hints

How can I use the Ogam Translator Program?

  • 1 of 9: First off, click on the Ogam Translator Program icon in the email to boot up the application.
  • 2 of 9: Now, you'll see the list of different Ogam characters on the upper-left portion of the screen, a space for the three parts of a "triplet" in the middle, your rubbing at the right, and the "triplet interpreter" underneath the symbols.
  • 3 of 9: The email from Jon Southworth does a pretty good job of explaining exactly how his little program works, so you shouldn't need to rely on hints too much for an explanation.
  • 4 of 9: You first need to read the Ogam, which goes from the upper left, and reads downwards. So read the first column from top to bottom, then the next, etc., along to the bottom-right which is the end of the script.
  • 5 of 9: Split the Ogam into the individual characters in the pane at the upper-left, and drag in those symbols as they appear on the Ogam, three at a time.
  • 6 of 9: For example, the first Ogam would consist of the symbol with five horizontal lines both left and right of the central one, followed by the symbol with two horizontal lines on the left, followed by the symbol with two horizontal lines on both the left and right.
  • 7 of 9: Once you've entered a triplet, click the Add to Message Pane button to add it to the message, then begin on the next triplet.
  • 8 of 9: As the email says, the next triplet begins with the last character of the first one. Remember this, or the output won't make any sense!
  • 9 of 9: Once the completed Ogam has been made, a button called Save Your Result will pop up. Make sure to click it!
