Talking to people...
You will have to talk to people a lot in Ripper. Walk up to them, and click the jabbering skull on them. Do this a lot, and click on any topics you see below. Sometimes the topics will not appear until you start talking, and sometimes new topics will appear as the game unfolds. Just keep coming back and talking with everyone until the game advances. There are only a few places where the order matters. But make sure to save your game before accusing anybody or talking tough.
