How can I make my own ROTT levels?

  • In the 1.2 CD version of ROTT, the README file says that they included ROTTED, an editor to make your own levels.  Unfortunately, it was not included.  It MAY have been put back in for the newer version that's now being sold in stores -- it's supposed to have more demos and perhaps v1.3 of the game.  So, you'll have to either find ROTTED or get another one.

    I recommend ROTTMD, which is a relatively easy to use level designer.  If Doom level designing was too much, ROTTMD is pretty simple.  It's a Windows product, and it's shareware.

    As for extra levels, you can find them at the Apogee User-Submitted Add-ons on America On-Line.  It's harder to find levels for ROTT than for other 3D games, but keep looking.  They take the form of .RTL files.
