Rise of the Triad: Dark War Hints
What is some of the stuff on the ROTT CD?
Plenty of things are fun on the Rise of the Triad CD:
RANDROTT: Randomizes levels. Put in parameters, and watch the levels sort out. This is explained in the README file.
RTSMAKER: Great fun! Make your own taunts with digitized voices, send them to your friends, and use them in Comm-Bat. Check the section on multi-player for more info on this.
MIDI files: Music from Rise of the Triad. Pretty cool altogether, especially with the better music (Going Down the Fast Way, Where Iz It?, Adagio for Strings, and Suck This). The names of the songs and their corresponding MID file can be found in the README.
WAV files: All the cool sound effects, many suitable for Windows-event application. For instance, on my system, I put it so that if you click somewhere you shouldn't, it yells "Infidel!". Think up other imaginative uses for the other sound files. Here you can also find those cool endgame noises (when you quit the game) and even the voices of those dumped female enemies.
BMP files: Various tiles (from the walls) and pictures from the game. One of the better ones is the "Boot Blood" one, which is when you lose the game. You could use these for backgrounds in Windows. There are three of each the BMP's, which one you use depends on the resolution you run Windows one.
GIF files: a bunch of pictures of the egotistical Developers of Incredible Power dressed up and doing silly things. Not really much of any use, but they ARE fun to look at. You'll need a separate GIF file viewer to see these.
