How can I create a diversion?
1 of 8: One way to scare him away would be to cause some kind of an explosion.
2 of 8: Check through your inventory for something you might use.
3 of 8: If you have not yet gotten Mina's encyclopedia working, this method of getting past the monkey will not be intuitive.
4 of 8: According to the encyclopedia, bamboo that is exposed to extreme heat can explode.
5 of 8: There's a hot spring bubbling just over your left shoulder.
6 of 8: Take a large piece of bamboo, and throw it into the hot spring.
7 of 8: You can find a large piece of bamboo lying on the ground, in the open area near the lake. From the original pile of logs, move forward once, and turn right. Go forward to the scarecrow, and turn left to the lake.
8 of 8: The resulting explosion takes care of our little monkey problem, and opens up this area of the island.
