What can I sweeten it with?
1 of 11: You're not going to find any sugar on the island.
2 of 11: But perhaps you can make something that will substitute for sugar.
3 of 11: Have you seen anything on the island that might give a clue as to what you can use?
4 of 11: There's a large red maple tree on one of the paths leading down to the lake.
5 of 11: From the original log pile, move forward to the first intersection. Turn right, and take the next path on the left. Look for the large red tree.
6 of 11: Use your knife to dig into the maple tree.
7 of 11: The maple sap is now running, but you'll need something to catch it in.
8 of 11: Pick up the maple syrup in a pot.
9 of 11: The maple syrup can be used as a substitute for sugar in the cake.
10 of 11: Or, if you're adventuresome (or just want to run up more points), you can heat the maple syrup into sugar.
11 of 11: Heat a bowl of maple syrup over any fire, and take the resulting sugar.
