Return To Mysterious Island 2: Mina's Fate Hints

How can I solve the vase puzzle?

  • 1 of 17: The idea here is to move the vases around on the shelves.
  • 2 of 17: Each vase corresponds with one of the shelves.
  • 3 of 17: And, it's your job to figure out in what way they correspond. Well... I suppose it's my job. It's your job to listen. :)
  • 4 of 17: Think back to the pottery, what control did we have when we made those "vases"?
  • 5 of 17: We could make the different parts of the pot narrow, or wider.
  • 6 of 17: And the blue vases here have wide and narrow parts too.
  • 7 of 17: Look at all of those carved lines on the pillars -- could they have anything to do with the width of the vases?
  • 8 of 17: Well... yeah, they do.
  • 9 of 17: The farhther apart the lines are, the thinner the vase on that pillar should be at that point.
  • 10 of 17: For example, one that started with the lines really close together at the top, then the lines got more spaced out in the middle, then got close together again at the bottom, would correspond with a vase that started out wide, then got narrower in the middle, and then widened out at the bottom -- kinda like an hourglass.
  • 11 of 17: The middle shelf of the five has this pattern, and the vase you need is the hourglass-shaped one.
  • 12 of 17: From left to right, the vases you need are:
  • 13 of 17: The one with the narrow top, and wide middle/bottom.
  • 14 of 17: The one with the narrow bottom, and wide top/middle.
  • 15 of 17: The one with the narrow middle, and wide top/bottom.
  • 16 of 17: The one with the narrow top/middle, and the wide bottom.
  • 17 of 17: And, the one with the narrow middle/bottom, and the wide top.
