Runaway: A Road Adventure Hints
How do I get into the analysis laboratory?
of 22: One of the characters in this area enters the lab on a regular basis.
of 22: There are only two characters around to talk to... make sure you say everything you can to these people.
of 22: Ask Willy about his "business". He'll end the conversation, and enter the laboratory. If you get the combination from the door for him, you should be able to get in yourself.
of 22: There's no way he'll just give it to you... you're going to have to figure out how to use him.
of 22: Remember that business card he gave you? There's a phone number on it.
of 22: And there's a phone on the upstairs level of the museum (right by the laboratory door).
of 22: Try calling Willy. (If he's still in the lab, just leave the area, then come back.) Brian will convince Willy to enter the lab again.
of 22: Notice how Willy has to use his finger to enter the combination every time he wants to go in.
of 22: He is probably leaving fingerprints on the keypad.
of 22: If you had some way of making the prints stand out, you could get the combination that way.
of 22: You know how detectives always "brush" for fingerprints at a crime scene? Try to do the same thing yourself.
of 22: There's a talcum powder brush in Dr. Olivaw's restoration laboratory, next to the water cooler.
of 22: Use the brush on the keypad. Unfortunately, Brian still needs some way of differentiating Willy's prints from his own.
of 22: Try to find something that the talcum would adhere to, making it more permanent.
of 22: It would have to be clear, so that Willy wouldn't notice it.
of 22: Get a bottle of colorless varnish from the briefcase on the right side of the restoration lab.
of 22: Use the varnish on the keypad.
of 22: Call Willy again. He'll go back to the analysis lab. Leave the area and come back, and Willy will have left the lab.
of 22: Use the brush on the panel. You'll finally be able to read Willy's prints.
of 22: The only thing left is to figure out what order Willy pressed the keys in. Brian will hum the tunes he heard. That should help you with the sequence.
of 22: Try to push the four digits (1, 3, 7, and 8) in an order that sounds like the notes Brian hummed. The solution to this puzzle follows:
