Which puzzles should I solve next?
1 of 3: There is no real rule.
2 of 3: I'd just worry about watching all of the events the first time around. Once you know what you will face at the events, you can always replay the game to solve the important puzzles in time.
3 of 3: There are also a few puzzles that you can't solve until a needed item turns up after a contest. You may have to wait until the endgame to get past some obstacles. So if at first you don't succeed, wait, wait again.
