Safecracker: The Ultimate Puzzle Adventure Hints
How do I open this safe with the letter wheels?
of 8: The combination of this safe is written on its front, which would make it very easy to open -- if it just weren't in code.
of 8: The dials in the center can be used to decode the letters along the bottom; find the first letter of the code on the inside wheel and see what letter it points to on the outer wheel.
of 8: But that starts out as "QGV," and that doesn't make sense! Clearly, we need to find out how the dials should be set before we can decode the message.
of 8: You'll find the setting for the dials in the safe in The Museum.
of 8: The paper says "L=E." This means the inner wheel L should line up with the outer wheel E.
of 8: Now you can just translate it for yourself. To get you started, Z on the inner wheel = S on the outer wheel, P = I, E = X, so the phrase starts out SIX.
of 8: The entire phrase translates as SIXFOURONETWO --
of 8: -- or 6412. Set the top wheels accordingly.
