How do I find my way around?
The game has a map that it builds as you explore the different parts of the mansion. To look at it, right-click to bring up the inventory, then left-click on the piece of paper in the lower left corner of the screen. Your location is shown with a large red-striped medallion that looks like a poker chip. The Xs show the safes in each room -- they're red when they're locked and black after you've solved them.
When I talk about locations in this game, I'll refer to the names given the different rooms on this map. I'll also assume that the top of the map is north -- so when you see me talk about North, South, East, and West, I'm talking about the top, bottom, right, and left sides of the map.
