Safecracker: The Ultimate Puzzle Adventure Hints
How do I open the safe by the south door?
1 of 9: It's clear you have to make it into a picture by turning the little knobs, but what picture?
2 of 9: Better save your game here --
3 of 9: -- and while you're doing that, look at the piece of paper on the "save" screen, the one with the dollar sign. That's the picture. It's essentially a dollar sign in parentheses, with the brackets at the upper left and lower right. Here's what the finished puzzle will look like when it's done:
4 of 9: This is a stinker of a puzzle, to be sure. One tactic that seems to work is to solve the top row first (this is easier than some rows because the two right squares are blank), then the second row, and then do the last three rows at the same time because you'll need the room to manipulate the pieces. But it just takes a long time, and you might want to wait till the kids are in bed so they don't have to hear you cussing while you work.
5 of 9: There are many ways to get it, but here's one I know works. Take it slow and be meticulous about which knob you're turning. If you get to the end and there's no pattern or you can't figure out how to fix it, back up to reset the puzzle and start over.
