Safecracker Hints

How do I open the jukebox?

  • 1 of 16: You will need an item from another room.
  • 2 of 16: Use a 50p coin from the strongbox in room 27 (Technical Design).
  • 3 of 16: The two rows of phrases in the center are real names of songs.
  • 4 of 16: You will need to match each of these songs with a phrase from either the far left row or the far right row.
  • 5 of 16: Choose a song you know, and think about what you know about the song.
  • 6 of 16: Do you know who performed any of these songs?
  • 7 of 16: A list of songs and their performers can be found in another room.
  • 8 of 16: Study the list of performers.
  • 9 of 16: How are they similar to the phrases in the outside rows of the jukebox?
  • 10 of 16: Try re-arranging the letters in the jukebox phrases.
  • 11 of 16: It's possible to re-arrange the letters of each phrase on the jukebox to spell the names of all the performers on the list.
  • 12 of 16: For example, "Stab the eel" can be rearranged to spell "The Beatles".
  • 13 of 16: Unscramble the remaining phrases.
  • 14 of 16: If you're having trouble unscrambling the phrases, try counting the letters in each performer's name and in each phrase.  Group together the phrases & names with the same number of letters.  (There are two sets of phrases & names which are supposed to match, but won't have the same number of letters).
  • 15 of 16: Next, match the performer's name with their song.
  • 16 of 16: To enter this on the jukebox, click on the phrase first, then the song.  For example, click on "Stab the eel" (The Beatles), then click on the song to match "She Loves You".
