Salammbo Hints

What does the papyrus message mean?

  • 1 of 12: Let's take the first line: "Place the tomb of thought on the engraved disk, then pour in saliva from the killer."
  • 2 of 12: That refers to things you might have picked up outside.
  • 3 of 12: Did you see the skeleton on the ramp to the bees?
  • 4 of 12: The skull was removable.
  • 5 of 12: Thoughts occur in the brain; a skull without a brain could very well be "the tomb of thought."
  • 6 of 12: "Saliva from the killer" is literal.
  • 7 of 12: The beast left a pool of neon green saliva by the bee hives.
  • 8 of 12: Go back there, pick up the skull, and gather the saliva in the empty glue bottle.
  • 9 of 12: Come back to the chamber and look at the table again.
  • 10 of 12: If you stand in front of the Moloch statue and look at the table, you get a pop-up picture of each tile.
  • 11 of 12: One of them is Moloch, an "engraved disk" if ever I saw one.
  • 12 of 12: Put the skull on the Moloch tile and pour the saliva into it.
