Salammbo Hints

Exactly what should I say?

  • 1 of 13: I was going to do an involved analysis of each dialogue choice here, but frankly it's not needed. Not all the choices make that much sense, and if you make a mistake you just start the conversation over. So don't sweat it too much.
  • 2 of 13: In case you're sweating it, however, here are the choices you need:
  • 3 of 13: "Nothing strange for the men to have gotten carried away. They've about run out of patience."
  • 4 of 13: "Hannon's flight stopped the payments. When will they begin again?"
  • 5 of 13: "We shouldn't have to hold an inquiry."
  • 6 of 13: "It's not the mercenaries' responsibility to investigate this. The treasure was under the guard of Carthage when it was stolen."
  • 7 of 13: "That would be unfortunate, but everyone should be responsible for his actions."
  • 8 of 13: At this point Hamilcar leaves in a huff. In the second round of dialogue, your goal is to convince the mercenaries they can win a battle against Carthage. To start, click on Matho. The choices this time follow.
  • 9 of 13: "You're invincible! Remember your victories against Rome."
  • 10 of 13: "Destroy the city and Salammbo will be yours. Harden your heart, for you have no other choice."
  • 11 of 13: "Carthage takes advantages of its allies. They will revolt as soon as they see that the city is having difficulties."
  • 12 of 13: "Let's put together an expedition to go get the Zaimph!"
  • 13 of 13: "I'll go alone to Carthage and bring back the Zaimph."
