Sam & Max: Season 2 Hints

How do I get Stinky to give me the basalt sandwich?

  • 1 of 9: You won't be able to do this until you've been inside the cave on Easter Island.
  • 2 of 9: As Stinky said, she can only sell the basalt sandwiches to children. Hey, you've got access to the Fountain of Youth now, don't you? That would do the trick nicely.
  • 3 of 9: Unfortunately, there's a problem. If you try to take a glass of Fountain water to the neighborhood, it evaporates before you get to Stinky's. If you drink it while you're still on Easter Island, the youthifying effect wears off before you get into the diner. Now what?
  • 4 of 9: If only the Bermuda Triangle was inside Stinky's! But how do we get it to move?
  • 5 of 9: What makes the triangles appear and disappear on the island? Hitting the gongs, that's what. Hitting the silver gongs makes silver triangles appear, gold gongs get gold triangles. So --
  • 6 of 9: -- for a red triangle, we need a red gong. There's a gong in Stinky's, but it's the wrong color. So what would happen if we changed the color of that gong?
  • 7 of 9: There's no red paint in the game, but there is a large pool of red slime down in the cave. Go to the far right pas the machine pod to find a snail oozing red slime. Grab it and cram it in your pocket (eww).
  • 8 of 9: Back at Stinky's, throw the snail at the gong to make it red, then shoot the gong to ring it and summon the triangle. Shazam!
  • 9 of 9: Now go back to the island, fill the cup at the Fountain of Youth, drink the water, and hop through the triangle into Stinky's, where she will now let you order a basalt sandwich.
