Sam & Max: Season 2 Hints
How do I win the trivia contest at Stinky's?
of 10: You think you know trivia? Well, it doesn't matter; this is more a matter of psychology than of facts.
of 10: To see how the game works, talk to Stinky; she tells you to pick up the trivia pad to mark your answer. Talk to everyone else to see how they're going to vote, then pick up the pad and mark your answer.
of 10: That cheater! It's clear that Stinky always says the correct answer is one that no one else chose. Creep!
of 10: But there are four possible answers, and four people playing the game. What would she do if all the answers were chosen?
of 10: Play another round and see if you can figure out how people choose their answers.
of 10: Sybil is pretty smart; she always chooses the obvious correct answer.
of 10: Abe is uncertain and has no confidence in his knowledge. He'll pick whatever answer you tell him you're picking.
of 10: The bug always chooses D, which is never the right answer.
of 10: So here's your strategy: Look at the trivia question and figure out which answer is really the right one; that's what Sybil will pick. The bug will pick D. Tell Abe to pick one of the remaining two answers, and you pick the one that's left. Since Stinky always asks for your answer last, she'll have no choice but to declare you the winner.
of 10: For example, in the first round, A (1812) is obviously the right answer, so Sybil will pick that one. The bug will pick D (bangers & mash). You tell Abe you're going to pick B (20,000 B.C.), then you pick C (March 3, 2004).
