Step-by-Step Winch Calculations

  • Since the formula for A starts out being in terms of B, substitute B's formula in, giving:

    A = 2C - 1

    Then substitute in the formula for C, getting:

    A = 2(A - 1) - 1

    Multiplying it out gives:

    A = 2A - 2 - 1

    Combine like terms (A terms and non-A terms) to get:

    -A = -3

    Divide both sides by negative one to get the answer:

    A = 3

    Now that we know what A is, we can easily calculate C as follows:

    C = 3 - 1 = 2

    And now we can easily calculate B like this:

    B = 2(2) = 4
