The Secrets of Atlantis Hints

How can I figure out a solution to the bee puzzles?

  • 1 of 11: Remembering the simple movement rules, use them to see if you can get some bee rows switched.
  • 2 of 11: It's extremely easy to get stuck, and even the starting bee puzzle can seem impossible to solve at first.
  • 3 of 11: This is often due to the mistaken idea that the first step is to switch the first two bee rows (the ones next to the starting empty row). Go ahead and try it if you haven't, and you'll soon find that there's no way out -- you'll always end up having to restart.
  • 4 of 11: And yet your first two moves pretty much have to be moving one of the first rows of bees to the center row and then jumping the other first row of bees over them.
  • 5 of 11: So the next move must be to move forward the middle row of the color of bees who did the jump.
  • 6 of 11: For instance, from the starting positions, you can move the first row of yellow bees to the right, jump the first row of orange bees over them, and then move the second row of orange bees left.
  • 7 of 11: Once again, there are only two moves possible after that, one of which is guaranteed to get you stuck.
  • 8 of 11: Moving the third row of orange bees left will get you stuck, so instead jump the first row of yellow bees over the second row of orange bees.
  • 9 of 11: And again, there are only two moves possible, one of which gets you quickly (though not instantly) stuck.
  • 10 of 11: You can keep moving along, discovering and then avoiding bad moves, until you finally solve the puzzle. Saving your game after every move you know won't get you stuck can help avoid having to redo the first moves over and over whenever you do get stuck later on.
  • 11 of 11: The puzzles with four rows and then five rows of each kind of bee work just the same, but simply require more moves, and it's a bit easier to get confused on them.
