The Secrets of Atlantis Hints
How do I solve the stone column puzzle?
of 21: Start by counting how many floor button slots there are in all.
of 21: It's hard to see them all in the shadows, but there seem to be ten.
of 21: You've already gotten one numeric clue from that paper in the bag, so check it to see if you can get any more.
of 21: After the reference to turning the ring three times, it mentions five things that you need to translate into numbers that'll act as a sort of combination code to solve this puzzle.
of 21: The first thing is "fantastic images." Is there anything around here that might count for that?
of 21: It seems a bit of a stretch to me, but it's talking about the carvings of bull heads that are on some of the pillars in the room above.
of 21: Looking up and around, you can see four bull head carvings.
of 21: That fits in with the fact that the only stone column that starts in the upright position is the fourth one. If you haven't pressed its floor button yet, do so now.
of 21: The next clue is "precious stones that light the way to truth."
of 21: The only thing that's lighting the way around here are torches.
of 21: How many torches are up in the room above?
of 21: You can see six of them from down in the trap room, and the #6 stone column is up, but that's not the right answer.
of 21: There are actually two other torches nearby that you can't see unless you restore a save from before you dropped into the floor trap.
of 21: So the real answer is eight. Press the floor button in front of stone column #8.
of 21: Thankfully, the last few clues are much easier to decode. The next one talks about a flaming pentacle. What number does that indicate?
of 21: Penta-anything means five, so press the floor button in front of stone column #5.
of 21: The next clue refers to a trident of orichalcus. The answer is once again in a word's prefix.
of 21: Tri-anything means three, so press stone column #3's floor button.
of 21: The last clue talks about "a big ship" and the "sole vestige." What number does that bring to mind?
of 21: It's *a* ship and the *sole* vestige, so that must mean the number one.
of 21: It's hard to see in the shadows, but stone column #1 is up, and you can press its floor button to finish the puzzle.
