The Secrets of Atlantis Hints
How can I get Lansky's safe open?
of 14: The safe is the weird gadget in his office that sort of looks like a clock. It's just to the right of the unopenable door that leads into the next room.
of 14: Notice that it has a clock-like face with several colored "hands" on it.
of 14: There are actually three pairs of hands, though you can't see that at first since some are covering up others.
of 14: Around the outside of the clock face are three pairs of colored triangles scattered about.
of 14: It can be kind of hard to distinguish the colors, but the hands and the outer triangles all come in the colors of yellow, orange, and white.
of 14: Look down below the clock face to find six little control knobs.
TIP: Before you start messing with the control knobs, save your game so that you can restore it later on if you decide to use one of my step-by-step solutions that requires the safe to be in its starting configuration.
of 14: Each knob has a design on it that's the same color as one of the sets of hands.
of 14: The two knobs on the left control the yellow hands, the middle two knobs control the white hands, and the right two knobs control the orange hands.
of 14: Notice that you can't click on the center of the control knobs, but you can click to the left and to the right of each of them.
of 14: Most times when you click to the left or right of a knob, the corresponding set of hands will move. If they don't, it's because the move is blocked by the little black knob obstacle that's near the top center of the display.
of 14: Also notice that if you click to the right of a control knob and the hands turn, clicking to the left of the same knob will undo that move.
of 14: So do you now see what you need to do?
of 14: Use the six control knobs to rotate the three sets of colored hands around to where they point at the same-colored triangles around the edge.
of 14: See below if you want to know how to figure out a solution, or if you just want an exact answer.
