Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Hints
I've been dumped into an alley next to a dumpster. Where to from here?
1 of 9: Your immediate goal is to enter the apartment building across the street and down at the other end, but you'll have to deal with or evade several National Guard troopers as you go.
2 of 9: The first step is to eliminate the guardsman who's patrolling back and forth in the alley.
3 of 9: You can try using the OCP on the two little lights on the uncrossable barrier nearby and then sneaking up behind him. If sneaking doesn't work, shoot him in the back with a nonlethal projectile when he's stopped next to the barrier. Either way, quickly drag him behind the dumpster in case the other guys come to investigate.
4 of 9: Then sneak down the alley and up to the side of another dumpster so that it's between you and the nearby guardsmen.
5 of 9: From that spot, use the pistol to shoot out the large spotlight that's nearby. If a guardsman drops a flare near it, wait for the flare to go out before moving.
6 of 9: You can then sneak past the spotlight and around the left side of the truck, where you'll see another spotlight set up just ahead.
7 of 9: If you see a guard walking around near the spotlight, wait until awhile after he walks away before shooting the spotlight with the OCP.
8 of 9: As soon as you do, sneak out and past the spotlight, then turn right and head for the well-lit open doorway in the back. Someone might detect you as you go through the door, so quickly go around the corner and on to the next area in case they follow you.
9 of 9: ALTERNATIVE: Right after shooting out a spotlight from next to the dumpster, find the nearby ladder that's next to the trashbags piled on the ground and jump up to where you can grab onto it. Climb up it and then the fire escape stairs, then hop onto the box that has nothing on top of it. From there, you can jump and grab a ledge and shimmy left all the way to a pipe you can climb down. Use the darkness to cross over to the doorway into the building. (If there's a guard near it, decoy him off by OCP-ing the other spotlight.)
