Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Hints
How can I get up to the next floor using the elevator?
of 8: Well, the tech doesn't exactly fix the thing -- he just gets its door open.
of 8: WARNING: While you're waiting for the tech to get the door open, watch out for the balcony guard walking in through the door and seeing you. Hide in the corner to the left of the doorway with the Back to Wall key to stay out of sight.
of 8: After the tech gets the elevator door open, wait for him to walk over and lean on a wall near the radio.
of 8: Make sure that neither the indoor patrolling guard nor the balcony guard are in sight, then carefully shoot out the light over the elevator door with the pistol.
of 8: Stay undercover until everybody calms down and decides it was nothing, then carefully sneak your way over to the elevator. (Be extra careful if the technician decides to post himself right in front of the elevator.)
of 8: Once you're there, crawl into the elevator car as you would a crawl space, then get up onto the car's roof by jumping up and grabbing the edge of the open roof hatch, then shimmying along it until you can climb up.
of 8: From the car's roof, jump over a large metal beam so that you can exit through the open door up here. That'll get you to the main penthouse floor, where you need to start watching out for infrared security cameras.
of 8: ALTERNATIVE: From on top of the large metal beam, you can enter a crawl space that'll take you into a small laundry room, which is blessedly free of infrared cameras and guards.
