How can I best handle the guards in the courtyard?

  • 1 of 12: After you go through the locked door, sneak over to the back of the nearby tent.
  • 2 of 12: Move to where you can use the Interaction key to cut the cloth, then sneak inside and grab the guy who's in there.
  • 3 of 12: Interrogate him to learn that Lacerda left in a boat an hour ago.
  • 4 of 12: As you talk, be backing out of the tent and back through the door you opened recently.
  • 5 of 12: When the guy's done talking, knock him out and then go back through the door and take out the other guy using standard sneak-up-behind tactics.
  • 6 of 12: SHORTCUT: At this point, you can bypass the second courtyard area by mantling up onto the large wooden crate near the second tent and then shimmying up the wall. This will take you to where you can enter the first tower. Read on if you don't want to take this shortcut.
  • 7 of 12: After you go through a short passage and enter the second outdoor courtyard area, sneak carefully along the broken brick wall on the right until you hear two guys talking.
  • 8 of 12: When you reach the point where you can see one of the guys through a low part in the wall, turn and use the pistol to shoot out the light that's up high and a ways to the left.
  • 9 of 12: Wait unmoving until the two guys stop worrying about the light, then sneak carefully forward to the end of the wall and turn right. One of the guys will be right there, his left side facing you, so sneak up to him and give him a good Alternate Fire whack to send him to dreamland.
  • 10 of 12: Then sneak carefully up alongside the next guy, who's standing against a large crate a ways back, and give him more of the same. If you have trouble with him seeing you, try shooting out the nearby lightbulb first. (If he then lights a flare, wait for it to go out.)
  • 11 of 12: NOTE: On Expert difficulty, these two guys may detect you no matter how stealthily you approach their area. Quickly shoot out the light before they come around the wall, then sneak along the wall as they pass you, being careful not to bump into either of them. If you're quick enough, you can get over to the other side of the wall and through the doorway leading to the first tower before they come back.
  • 12 of 12: SHORTCUT: Shoot out the light that's up high, then shimmy up onto the tin roof overhang. Wait until the guys give up looking for you, then take a running jump across to the walkway beneath the shot-out light. (They may hear something, but won't be able to see you with the light out.)
