Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Hints
How can I drain the flooded compartments?
of 12: Redding's message said you'll have to activate the bilge in the forward machine room.
of 12: After you receive this message, continue squeezing through narrow passageways in the cargo hold (or shimmying up and climbing over crates) until you reach a ladder on one wall.
of 12: Climb up it and open the door you find near its top, then go down the corridor to the end to find another door you can slide open.
of 12: Sneak up on the guy who's making so much noise working and interrogate him.
of 12: After he's out, find the small crawl space high up in one wall and use the Interaction key to get up into it.
of 12: When you exit the crawl space, you'll be next to a well-lit area with a guard on the same walkway you're on and a technician working on the pump down below.
of 12: First thing to do is back up into the dark corner farthest from those guys and shoot out the lightbulb with the pistol. They'll notice, but won't see you or sound the alarm.
of 12: Wait for the guard on your floor to walk over close to where you're hiding, then follow him stealthily as he walks back to his post. (If he keeps seeing you in the corner, try moving up against the railing. He doesn't look directly at it.)
of 12: Once he stops, you can quickly knock him out and drag his body back to the walkway's far corner. If you do this quietly enough, the technician on the floor below won't climb up the ladder to investigate.
of 12: When the tech isn't near the ladder, climb carefully down it and watch for an opportunity to sneak up behind him and hit him. Drag his unconscious body to the darkest corner you can find.
of 12: Then you've got the place to yourself and can go activate the pumps using the console that the tech was working at earlier.
of 12: ALTERNATIVE: If you'd rather skip taking down the guards, you can hop over the right end of the railing and land on some large pipes as soon as you shoot out the light. Drop down from there and sneak over to the tech's console and use it when he's not near it.
