Why are those doors sometimes closed?
1 of 3: It seems to depend on the difficulty level and some other factors.
2 of 3: For me, they were always open on Expert difficulty unless an alarm had sounded, but on Normal difficulty they were usually only open if no alarms had sounded *and* I hadn't taken down any of the outdoor guards (though I sometimes got away with knocking out one of them).
3 of 3: If you're still outside and aren't sure whether those doors will be open for you or not, save your game and get to the bank's lobby (see link below). If you find that the doors aren't open, restore your game and go in through the front (or keep playing and find the fire exit that leads back outside).
