Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Hints
How can I get to Shetland's private office?
of 11: It's in the upstairs area past reception.
of 11: After entering the lobby, you could turn left and head down the corridor to get to the reception area, but the guys talking in there would probably notice you.
of 11: A better way is to sneak into the maintenance closet and find the crawl space entrance that's high up on the wall near one of the doors.
of 11: You'll end up in the closet area next to reception, so hide and wait until the two guys out there finish talking and one of them walks off.
of 11: Sneak carefully out and use the switch object on the nearby desk's computer to turn its light out.
of 11: Then wait in the closet right next to the curtains with thermal vision on until you see the reception guard come sit down briefly at the desk. As soon as he does, quickly sneak up on him and grab him, then retreat to the closet to ditch him. (You might want to save your game as he approaches the chair and restore if you don't make the grab. If it's too hard, just use a nonlethal projectile on him when he's near the chair.)
of 11: Sneak back up to the desk and hack the computer so you can turn off the security camera that's watching the stairs.
of 11: Sneak quietly up the stairs and take down the upstairs guard with a nonlethal projectile after making sure a civilian isn't still in the hallway. (He'll usually go into a room and go to sleep.) If you have trouble with the guard seeing you, it may help to shoot out the light that's halfway up the stairs while you're still at the bottom.
of 11: ALTERNATIVE: You could OCP the light that's next to the sliding glass doors that lead outside and then take down the outside guard with a projectile when he comes in. Then you could go outside and climb up a pole near the truck to get to a ledge with a wire that you can use to get near an open bedroom window. Wait until the person in the room lies down and goes to sleep, then shimmy over and climb in through the window. When the upstairs guard isn't near the bedroom door, exit and knock him out.
of 11: The upstairs door that's locked with a keycode panel is the one that leads to the office you want.
