Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Hints

What do I need to do in the server room?

  • 1 of 11: First of all, approach and enter it carefully with night vision on.
  • 2 of 11: There are two infrared cameras on the server room's ceiling, constantly scanning around. One of them might see you through the glass part of the door while you're still outside, so have night vision on and only approach the door to open it or go through it when the beam isn't scanning the door.
  • 3 of 11: NOTE: Even though the cameras' beams seem to go right through solid walls and computer banks, the cameras can't actually see you through them -- it's just a slight graphics clipping problem.
  • 4 of 11: As soon as it's clear from the doorway to the side of the nearest large computer bank, run in and move up next to the computer bank so you won't be seen.
  • 5 of 11: Move down to the other end of the bank and peek carefully around the corner. When you're sure neither camera can see you, turn night vision off for a moment.
  • 6 of 11: You see those two blue screens on the nearest part of the next computer bank down? That's the computer you need to use.
  • 7 of 11: You can't EEV them, so you'll have to go up and stand next to them in order to use the computer.
  • 8 of 11: Turn night vision back on and back up a bit to where you can use the OCP on the nearest ceiling camera.
  • 9 of 11: Then wait until the other camera is looking in some other direction, and run up to the blue screens and use the computer.
  • 10 of 11: There's no need to click on any individual files, so just quickly exit the computer screen and run for the server room door.
  • 11 of 11: NOTE: If either of the cameras sees you or an alarm has been sounded in the past for any reason, the server banks will be lowered into the floor, totally inaccessible. If you don't want to restore a save and try again, sneak over and hack the retinal scanner that's in the small corner diagonally across the room from the door.
