I've discovered a pear-shaped machine; what is it for?
1 of 6: Hannah cannot do anything with the machine -- at least not right away.
2 of 6: Continue on with other portions of the game. You won't need to use the machine right away, and you may be able to figure out what to do with the machine later, when you need to use it.
3 of 6: Look carefully around the machine -- including from the back.
4 of 6: You should see a device that dispenses oil.
5 of 6: The machine is able to dispense oil for you -- for a price.
6 of 6: The machine can exchange pearls for oil -- one pearl for one unit of oil.
