Schizm Hints

Want to run that one by me again?

  • 1 of 8: The first "old" coordinate on the second tablet is 362.
  • 2 of 8: If you remember that the controls basically look like a clock face, you can convert any set of coordinates into a time and do math that may be more familiar to you.  (The first symbol never changes, so we can leave that alone for now.)
  • 3 of 8: The last two symbols of 6 and 2 are the same thing as a time of 6:10.  (We multiply the 2 by 5 because when the minute hand on a clock is pointing at the 2, it's saying you're 10 minutes past the hour.)
  • 4 of 8: We now want to subtract the duodecimal number 17 (or in clock-time, 1:35) from the duodecimal 62 (a time of 6:10).
  • 5 of 8: The time 4:35 is 1 hour and 35 minutes before 6:10.
  • 6 of 8: Again, :35 past the hour means the minute hand on a clock is pointing at the 7.
  • 7 of 8: So when we subtract 17 from 362, the last two symbols are 4 (for the hour) and 7 (for the minutes).
  • 8 of 8: Or the full set of coordinates in the answer is 347.
