How do I get the silver thing from the drain at the base of the tree?

  • 1 of 21: Michael is not sure of what the object is; but we can be pretty sure that, given its appearance and the comments about it, it's something we need to try and retrieve!
  • 2 of 21: If you can't pick the object out of the drain, perhaps you can think of a way to jostle it from its current location.
  • 3 of 21: It's in a drain -- perhaps you can wash it down further.
  • 4 of 21: What happens if you turn on the tap (without anything connected to it), and allow the water to run down into the drain?  Note: The tap is located at the base of the tree -- you'll need to walk around to the back of the tree to see it.
  • 5 of 21: There seems to be something preventing the water from flowing out to its natural drainage destination.
  • 6 of 21: Look around the greenhouse.  What could be blocking the drain?
  • 7 of 21: Note where the drain runs -- particularly around the outside edge of the room.
  • 8 of 21: At one point, there is definitely something blocking the drain.
  • 9 of 21: It's a small bush, and it has fallen over, partly into the drain.
  • 10 of 21: You'll need to get that bush (or at least the part blocking the drain) out of the way.
  • 11 of 21: You can't pick up the bush, but you may be able to remove portions of it.
  • 12 of 21: Perhaps you could cut off the obstructing branches.
  • 13 of 21: Use the shears on the bush to clear the drain.
  • 14 of 21: With the water continuing to run, go back around to the front of the tree and look for the shiny object again.  Note: It may take a few minutes for the water to dislodge the shiny object.  If you wait long enough, it will disappear -- washed down the drain. (You can be a good conservationist, and turn off the water at this point.)
  • 15 of 21: Where could it go from here?  What might be the natural outflow from the greenhouse drain?
  • 16 of 21: Have you explore the area outside of the greenhouse, between the greenhouse and the mansion?
  • 17 of 21: There is a small side path that leads off to one side of the main path between the mansion and the greenhouse.
  • 18 of 21: To find it, start immediately outside of the greenhouse, and take two steps back toward the mansion.
  • 19 of 21: Turn to the right, and look for a small opening in the bushes.  Continue forward to a dead tree.
  • 20 of 21: Look at the base of the tree; notice the small pool of water below the tree.
  • 21 of 21: If you pan down as far as you can, you should see the small silver "thing" at the bottom of the close-up screen.  Be sure to click on it to add a key to your inventory.
