Scratches Hints
What is there to do at the front of the chapel?
of 18: Go to the front of the chapel and examine the area -- specifically around, and below, the crucifix.
of 18: There seems to be some kind of small metal ring on the floor.
of 18: That frequently indicates the ability to lift a removable section of floor, providing access to something below.
of 18: What can you use to try and lift that ring? (Note: there is no "hand" cursor to indicate that you can take action on the ring; you just have to try.)
of 18: Continue to look around carefully, this time at the crucifix at the very front of the chapel. Note: Michael comments on the "INRI" sign above the cross, and muses about its possible meaning. (Since he never answers his own question, the curious reader may like to know that "INRI" is an acronym for the words used by Pilate, when he had Jesus crucified. They stand for "Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Ivdaeorvm." Latin uses "I" instead of "J", and "V" instead of "U" -- i.e., Jesus Nazarenus Rex Judaeorum. The English translation is "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews".)
of 18: Be sure to look closely at the feet of Jesus -- and note a small black dot near the bottom of the feet, where they overlap.
of 18: It almost looks as though something could be inserted into that hole.
of 18: Do you have anything that you might be able to insert into the "noticeable orifice" in the feet of Jesus?
of 18: That hole is representative of the nail driven through Jesus feet at his crucifixion.
of 18: Try placing a heavy nail into the orifice.
