How do I remove the curse?

  • 1 of 8: Be sure to solve the puzzles in The Crypt, The Greenhouse, The Study, and The Chapel.  Also, be sure you have completed a task relating to Michael's car and another task relating to Catherine's grave.
  • 2 of 8: The first step in removing the curse is to find out what you will need to do.
  • 3 of 8: You will need to obtain all of the items referenced in the document, which are required to create the amulet that will remove the curse.
  • 4 of 8: When you have all necessary items, you will need to find a way to combine them together to make the amulet described by James Blackwood.
  • 5 of 8: You now should have the final amulet that James Blackwood describes in his document.  The only thing left is to figure out how to use it.  The purpose of the amulet is to remove -- literally to exorcise -- the curse that is resident in the mansion.
  • 6 of 8: Where does the curse reside?  What object is the curse associated with?  You should have read about this in some of the documents left in the house.
  • 7 of 8: The object would certainly be something associated with the African gallery on the second floor of the mansion.
  • 8 of 8: James' comments also discuss the mask -- and Michael's explorations keep leading him back to that African mask, in the storage space of the gallery.  Use the amulet on the mask.  (Kind of anti-climactic, isn't it???  You kind of expected something more, didn't you?)
