Scratches Hints
Using the Inventory
Right-click to open the inventory. There is a magnifying glass on the left side of the screen, immediately to the left of some inventory objects. To pick up the magnifying glass, left-click on it. While the cursor looks like the magnifying glass, move it over an inventory object, then left-click. The game will provide you with a description of the item.
To pick up an inventory item, simply left-click on it. Right-click once again to close the inventory screen. To use an inventory object with another object in the scene, move the object-cursor until it is located where you would like to use it, then left-click. The game will let you know whether or not the idea you had in mind worked.
On occasion, you might try the correct thing -- but at the wrong time. Keep in mind that just because you were unable to use a specific item in a particular location, it does not mean that you cannot return later and try the same combination again.
