But I'm blocked at the level '4' platform; how can I get any further?
1 of 24: Let's think about this -- how did you get down one level?
2 of 24: You had to find the right handle to lower, so that the correct grate would go down, giving you access to the platform at level '5', and the winding walkway down to level '4'.
3 of 24: It stands to reason that there must be a way to lower the grate(s) at level '4', as well -- thus giving you access to it, from the walkway coming down from level '5'.
4 of 24: Now, how would you lower a grate on level '4'?
5 of 24: How did you lower a grate on level '5'?
6 of 24: First, you got to that level, then you lowered one or more handles.
7 of 24: Go back up to level '5', and return to the elevator console.
8 of 24: This time, don't touch the handles; just press the elevator button for level '4'.
9 of 24: As you began your descent, what happened to the handles?
10 of 24: They should have reset... but not necessarily to their upright position.
11 of 24: Have you stopped at level '4' before?
12 of 24: While at level '4', change the position of one or two of the handles.
13 of 24: Did you hear the mechanical sound in the distance?
14 of 24: Where have you heard that sound before?
15 of 24: How about when you were at level '5', and lowered one or more of the grates?
16 of 24: To get a better idea of what you've done, click on the elevator button for level '5', and ascend to the top once again.
17 of 24: Notice that then handles that you set at level '4' are changed...
18 of 24: ... but not all back to their upright position.
19 of 24: In fact, they changed back to the position they were in when you last left level '5'.
20 of 24: It appears that the handles "remember" their position from level to level.
21 of 24: While back up on level '5', take the walkway down to the level '4' platform.
22 of 24: Depending on which handle(s) you lowered while you were inside the elevator at level '4', one or two of the grates at level '4' will now be lowered.
23 of 24: (You may or may not be able to see all of them. Try to look for them as you descend the sloping walkway from the platform at level '5' to the platform at level '4'.)
24 of 24: If you were lucky, you may even have lowered the grate located at the platform on level '4' at which you were standing before.
