Sentinel: Descendants in Time Hints
How do I know the order in which to press the symbols?
of 11: The clue for the symbols on the buttons were found on the cranks in the church.
of 11: The cranks could be considered to be in a certain order, based on their associated posts...
of 11: ... but that won't solve the puzzle.
of 11: In fact, there is another clue related to the cranks themselves that will provide the order of the three matching cranks (and, hence, the three symbols to match with the golden grid of buttons).
of 11: Look closely at each setting of cranks and symbols.
of 11: Specifically, take note of the posts themselves (only the three posts with the three matching crank sounds). Do you see anything unique about the posts?
of 11: They are not all made the same.
of 11: In fact, they each have a different number of sides to them.
of 11: If we put the posts -- and, hence, the symbols -- in ascending order of the number of their sides, we could create an "order" for our three symbols.
of 11: And that is the order in which to press these three symbols on the open 3x3 grid of golden buttons.
of 11: Using the currently-open golden puzzle grid (the one to the left of the large building in the center of town), press the three buttons that match the three cranks that produce matching sounds -- beginning with the symbol that is on the post with the fewest number of sides, and finishing with the symbol that is on the post with the greatest number of sides.
