Sentinel: Descendants in Time Hints
I can't hear the difference; which ones match?
of 15: Let's start by defining the four basic sounds that are reproduced by the machinery towers and by the stands. And to make things easier, we'll assign a number to each of the possible sounds.
of 15: Sound #1 is very like the wind blowing on a cold, gusty day.
of 15: Sound #2 sounds like a strange Morse code of some kind.
of 15: Sound #3 has a crackle almost like electricity static.
of 15: And sound #4 is reminiscent of sleigh bells being struck twice.
of 15: The following information defines the sound pair for each machinery tower, using the format "N:S1-S2", where "N" is the number of the machinery tower (based on the Map of Sanselard), and "S1-S2" indicate the pair of sounds, using the above numbering. For example, machinery tower #1 produces two sounds -- the "Morse code" sound, and a sound like wind. This would be represented as 1:2-1.
of 15: The 12 wooden stands also produce pairs of sounds, and they use the same four sounds as defined above. Using the same notation (N:S1-S2), the 12 pairs of sounds for the stands are as follows.
of 15: Based on the above information, you should now be able to match up the eight machinery towers with the correct eight wooden stands -- and ignore the four stands that are "red herrings".
of 15: Machinery tower #1 matches stand #4 (both produce a "2-1" sound pattern... the "Morse code" sound followed by a sound like wind).
of 15: Machinery tower #2 matches stand #10 (both produce a "3-2" sound pattern.
of 15: Machinery tower #3 matches stand #5 ("2-3").
of 15: Machinery tower #4 matches stand #1 ("3-1").
of 15: The other four matches are shown below, as "Mn:Sn:", where "Mn" is a machinery tower (e.g., M5) and "Sn" is a stand (e.g., S12). M5:S12 M6:S9 M7:S7 M8:S2
